Turn iPhone HEIC photos into JPG

HEIC photos won’t open everywhere. Convert them to JPG right here — the date and camera details come along, the location stays behind if you like, and nothing is uploaded.

Your photos never leave your device

90

90 keeps the photo looking the same at a sensible size. Higher means bigger files.

Everything happens inside this page. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is sent anywhere — once the page has loaded, it even works offline.

How it works

A JPG that still knows when it was taken

Decode

An open-source HEIC decoder runs in your browser, one photo at a time, without slowing the page. It turns each picture the right way up.

Keep the details

The date, camera, lens and settings are copied into the JPG, and so is the colour profile, so iPhone colours look the same.

Leave the location

With “Remove the location” ticked (it is, to begin with), the GPS block is blanked before it goes in, and every JPG is checked afterwards.

For your whole library

Keep HEIC. See everything anyway.

firelet.media Gallery opens iPhone HEIC photos as they are, right next to everything else in your library, and finds any of them by what is in the picture — a private AI photo gallery for Windows, with a 14-day free trial.

Credits and licences

HEIC decoding uses libheif and libde265, compiled to WebAssembly by libheif-js 1.23.2. They are free software under the GNU LGPL 3.0: the decoder is a separate file this page loads only when you convert something, and you are free to replace it with your own build of the same libraries.
